Retail Equipment Services Technician

Overview Equipment Services Tech is responsible for building, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing all specialized product purchased and serviced through the service department. Technicians are also fully trained in sales and register functionality to provide an elevated experience for athletes visiting the House of Sport location. Responsibilities Assemble, maintain, and repair action sports equipment to meet athlete needs and company/vendor standards. Assist with everyday bicycle services, including minor to advanced repairs, part replacement, accessory fitting (lights, pannier racks, cycle computers), safety checks, cleaning, degreasing, and lubricating. Maintain snow equipment through base cleaning, sharpening, waxing, brushing, polishing, and tip/tail preparation; diagnose faults and wear, provide accurate estimates, and educate athletes on necessary or recommended repairs. Assemble new equipment and partner with lead to perform quality checks before handing off to the explorer. Understand athlete behavior, assess needs, and recommend products/services that meet those specific needs. Support company standards of selling and customer service by greeting and acknowledging every athlete and maintaining solid product knowledge. Support sales floor operations by providing a friendly environment. Identify and inform management of ways to improve shop workflow, increasing productivity while maintaining or improving service quality. Preserve complete and accurate shop records and maintain record‑keeping systems. Perform all other tasks assigned by management. Qualifications Excellent bicycle assembly skills.
