Job Description Job Description Senior Property Accountant Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Property Accountant to support a portfolio of commercial real estate assets. This role is ideal for someone with strong Yardi experience who understands property-level accounting and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. You'll play a key role in managing financial reporting, overseeing the close process, and partnering closely with property management teams to ensure accurate and timely results. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties, including office, retail, and/or industrial assets Lead and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for assigned properties Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments related to property operations Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, including CAM, tenant billings, and lease-related accounts Produce and review property-level financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP Analyze operating results, variances, and portfolio trends; provide insights to asset management and leadership Partner with property managers to review financial performance, budgets, and reforecasts Support annual budgets, reforecasts, and tenant reconciliations (CAM and operating expense recoveries) Ensure accuracy of lease data, rent rolls, and expense recoveries within Yardi Assist with audit requests by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries Identify opportunities for process improvements and support system enhancements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required 3+ years of commercial real estate or property accounting experience required Hands-on experience with Yardi (Voyager preferred) Strong understanding of GAAP and property-level accounting concepts (CAM, straight-line rent, expense recoveries, etc.) Proven experience owning or supporting the month-end close for a property or portfolio Experience preparing property financials and working with budgets/forecasts Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience working closely with property management or asset management teams Skills & Attributes Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple properties simultaneously Analytical mindset with the ability to identify variances and drive resolution Ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-volume, close-driven environment Strong communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally Self-starter who can work independently while collaborating with a broader team Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and process efficiency Pay Details: $85,000.00 to $95,000.00 per year Search managed by: Tania Cruz Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Military connected talent encouraged to apply To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to -privacy The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: The California Fair Chance Act Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance Massachusetts Candidates Only: It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
