Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking a skilled and experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a high-acuity environment. This position is crucial in providing exceptional care to a diverse patient population within a Level III trauma center.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister medications via barcode scanning and manage medication drips.Perform blood product administration.Conduct triage as needed; candidates must pass the hospital's Triage Test prior to triage duties.Set up chest tubes and arterial lines, and assist with trauma and code cases.Provide splinting and support with BiPAP/ventilator management.Demonstrate a solid understanding of the Emergency Severity Index (ESI).Patient PopulationThe Registered Nurse will care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics, including those with:Medical and trauma emergencies in pediatrics.Neurological events (stroke management).Cardiac conditions (cath lab involvement).Behavioral health and substance use disorders.Patient RatiosStaffing ratios will vary based on patient acuity, typically ranging from 1:3 to 1:5. The Emergency Department operates in designated zones, including a fast track area.QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of experience in a high-volume emergency department with high acuity patients.Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC.Pediatric emergency medicine experience is highly preferred.Experience with point-of-care labs is a plus.Shifts and ScheduleAvailable shifts include days, mids, evenings, and nights. Weekend rotation is required every other weekend, with flexibility needed for scheduling.LocationThis position is located in a city in the state of your choice. The facility encompasses a total of 226 beds, with 34 designated for the Emergency Department, managing 200-250 ED visits daily.Electronic Medical Record (EMR)Experience with EMR system, specifically Epic, is required for this role.Join our team and contribute to providing the highest level of patient care in one of the busiest emergency departments in the state.
