Wastewater Lab Technician/Operator

Wastewater Lab Tech/Operator City of Somersworth, NH Job Overview Performs all tasks necessary for the analysis of the wastewater treatment program. This position is responsible for assuring that the operation of the wastewater treatment facility meets or exceeds all State and Federal rules and regulations. Qualifications Associates of Science degree in chemistry or biology from an accredited college or university preferred. 5 years of experience in laboratory operations; must demonstrate ability to interpret State and Federal regulations. Thorough knowledge of chemistry and mathematics as it applies to wastewater treatment, and thorough knowledge of municipal wastewater treatment operations. Ability to read and understand federal pretreatment regulations, and good communication skills. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have or be able to obtain within 12 months a NH Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator Grade II and a New England Laboratory Analyst Grade II certification.
