Job Title: Float Pool RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days/Evenings/Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: 2 years of acute care hospital experience in one location and 2 years working as a Traveler License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Telemetry monitoring experience, ability to perform cardiac drips, and reading tele strips Description: Must be willing to float to 8 different units. Responsible for cardiac monitoring and administering cardiac drips. Must be proficient in interpreting telemetry strips at regular intervals. Float throughout the hospital to various medical/surgical telemetry areas. Clinician to patient ratio is up to 5:1 during days and evenings, and up to 6:1 at night. Care for patients in need of acute medical attention, including those from the ED and medication management for mental health. Bed count is 371 across units, with census ranging from 8 to 41 beds. Rotation includes daytime and evening shifts with possible rotations to night shifts. Utilize an electronic medical record charting system.
