Education Coordinator / HR Coordinator

Job Summary

Senior Helpers is seeking an organized, people-focused Education Coordinator/HR to manage caregiver training, onboarding, and core human resources functions for our office. This role ensures caregivers are properly trained, credentialed, and supported, while also handling recruitment, personnel records, and compliance with employment regulations. The ideal candidate balances strong administrative skills with a genuine passion for developing caregiving staff. This is a full-time, salaried position reporting directly to the Branch Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Education & Training

• Coordinate new caregiver orientation and onboarding, including required company and state training modules
• Certify new hires on CPR/First Aid and recertify existing employees as needed
• Schedule and track ongoing continuing education and certification renewals (e.g., CPR/First Aid, dementia care, safety training)
• Maintain training records and ensure compliance with state and company training requirements
• Monitor caregiver competency evaluations and skills assessments

Human Resources

• Support recruitment and hiring: schedule interviews, conduct background checks and reference checks
• Process new hire paperwork, I-9/employment eligibility verification, and personnel file setup
• Maintain accurate, confidential employee records in compliance with applicable employment law
• Support performance management processes, including documentation of coaching, disciplinary actions, and terminations
• Help ensure compliance with employment laws, licensing requirements, and company policies
• Respond to employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and procedures

General

• Serve as a point of contact for caregiver questions related to training and employment
• Assist with employee engagement and retention initiatives
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and client information
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• 1-3 years of experience in HR, training/education coordination, or healthcare administration (home care/senior care experience a plus)
• Current CPR/First Aid Instructor certification, or willingness to obtain
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and scheduling/training software, or willingness to learn
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Comfortable working with diverse teams and caregivers

Working Conditions

• Full-time, salaried exempt position; standard office hours with occasional evening/weekend availability for training sessions or events
• Primarily office-based with occasional travel for training events or recruitment activities
