Special Knowledge / Skills: Ability to cut and issue keys, install and repair locks and hardware Ability to install, troubleshoot and repair both mechanical locking and electronic access control devices Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures Skill in utilizing building security and lock systems and procedures Maintain inventory and good record keeping Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade Ability to communicate effectively Maintenance and Repair: Install, repair and maintain locks, exit devices, closers, file cabinets, chairs, casters and other hardware. Re-key locks and cut keys as to masters, sub-masters, area masters, individual locks, etc. Stamps with identification Create master key schedule for new buildings and re-key existing facilities using blueprints and hardware specification packages. Installs and repairs door hardware and hydraulic closing fixtures. Maintains records of work performed Assist supervisor in coordinating the proper hardware to comply with all building codes and District master key systems. Perform other duties as assigned. Equipment Used: Ladder, locks (manual and electrical), fastening devices, control systems, keys, hand and power tools. Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public. Physical Demands: Continual standing, walking, pushing, and pulling. Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing (ladder), moderate lifting and carrying. Environmental Factors: Moderate exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
