ICU Registered Nurse (RN)An opportunity for an ICU Registered Nurse is available. The position involves providing high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced intensive care unit environment, ensuring patient safety and effective communication with the healthcare team.Shift and SchedulingShift: NightsShift Length: 12 hoursGuaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekWeekend Requirements: 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduleHoliday Requirements: May be required to participate in holiday rotationUnit InformationUnit Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:1-2, may flex up to 1:3 depending on acuityCommon Diagnoses: Variety of ICU conditionsExperience Required: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, with preference for prior travel experience. First-time travelers must have 3 or more years of ICU experience and Epic experience.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister medication and manage intravenous therapy, including titration of critical drips such as pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin.Conduct patient assessments and provide direct care to critically ill patients.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans.Be prepared to float to other units such as PCU/Stepdown and MS-Tele as needed.Follow safety protocols and maintain high standards of patient care.Required CertificationsACLS (AHA)BLS (AHA)NIHSSAdditional InformationAll clinicians must be in-state for the week of orientation, which may include remote modules.Travelers are expected to manage their housing within a 60-mile radius of the designated zone.There are no nurse aids on this unit; sitters are used only when necessary.RNs are expected to assist with respiratory needs and operate respiratory equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP.
