Guided by our core values of Passion, Respect, and Excellence , the Director of Nursing oversees home health nursing and therapeutic services, supports clinical staff, and ensures compassionate, high-quality care for patients in their homes.

Responsibilities for Director of Nursing:

• Oversee nursing and therapeutic services, ensuring care meets patient needs and professional standards.

• Partner with the Administrator to maintain appropriate staffing, schedules, and clinical coverage.

• Lead recruitment, hiring, supervision, education, and performance evaluations for clinical personnel.

• Develop and implement agency policies and procedures, ensuring staff adherence.

• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, staff licensure requirements, infection control practices, and HIPAA policies.

• Oversee accurate medical records and partner with Quality Management to ensure physician orders are current and followed.

• Support quality improvement initiatives and ongoing evaluation of agency services.

• Build relationships with healthcare partners and support home health referrals.

• Ensure leadership availability during operating hours and appropriate after-hours coverage; participate in on-call rotations as applicable.

• Provide patient visits when needed and serve as Alternate Administrator in the Administrator’s absence.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a National League for Nursing–approved program with at least one year of nursing experience; or at least three years of nursing experience without a bachelor’s degree, including two years in a home health agency and two years of nursing experience within the five years preceding employment.

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and clinical problem-solving skills.

• Ability to educate and support staff while collaborating with physicians, patients, families, and agency leadership.

• Reliable transportation for patient home visits as needed.

• Ability to accommodate on-call responsibilities and occasional weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed.
