Production Manager

Production ManagerVertiv is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and oversee manufacturing operations at our Pelzer, SC facility. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing production activities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are consistently achieved. The Production Manager will lead and develop supervisors and production teams while driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and a high-performance culture in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesPlan, execute, and achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets across assigned production areas.Implement and maintain visual KPI reporting to drive accountability and high-performing teams.Evaluate personnel requirements based on production demands and workforce planning needs.Recommend equipment, tooling, and process improvements to support current and future business objectives.Identify training needs and ensure appropriate training plans are implemented for production teams and leaders.Conduct departmental and tier meetings to ensure communication, alignment, and execution of priorities.Ensure all equipment is maintained in safe operating condition; remove unsafe equipment from service when necessary.Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and workplace organization.Develop and coach supervisors and direct reports through structured skill development and performance planning.Plan and schedule production activities while overseeing daily execution across production lines.Ensure effective utilization of labor, materials, and equipment to meet production schedules.Ensure quality systems are in place, followed, and effective to guarantee product integrity.Own accurate costing for assigned work centers and actively identify cost improvement opportunities.Monitor production practices, adjust schedules, and address issues to minimize downtime or delays.Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and other departments to prevent production disruptions.Support and enforce Vertiv policies, procedures, and operational goals.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:3–5 years of production or manufacturing management experienceStrong leadership, communication (oral and written), and coaching skillsExperience working with ERP systems and Microsoft OfficeAbility to lead, develop, and coach a diverse workforcePreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fieldKnowledge of ISO standards and Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologies10+ years of experience in production management, scheduling, and assembly operationsProven experience driving continuous improvement initiativesPhysical & Environmental DemandsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsLight to moderate manufacturing environmentTravel RequirementsLess than 10%The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv's Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.OUR CORE PRINCIPALS: Safety.
