National Assistant Controller

: Overview: Under the supervision of the Senior Director, SBS Controller & Planning, the SBS- National Assistant Controller, is responsible for the management, training/development and and support of SBS Branch controllers; oversight of acquisition finance integration activities; lead SAP financial reporting; as well as special projects as assigned. Responsibilities:

• The responsibilities and authorities stated below are subject to established policies.
• Direct reporting responsibility for SBS Branch Controllers.
• Manage training and development and support SBS Branch Controllers across the organization—including new controller placement and training, as needed.
• Participate in the planning, creation and execution of long-term goals and objectives for the SBS branch finance organization
• Ensure SBS Finance organization goals and objectives align with the overall company long term business strategies.
• Identify areas of internal control/process weakness and make appropriate recommendations with significant focus on Revenue Recognition, Accounts Payable, and Inventory valuation.
• Initiate and implement programs to drive finance process improvemen and efficiencies, in support of expense reduction and overall increased profitability (Ops challenge, KPIs, etc.)
• Work with SBS National Operations Manager to identify system improvements, policy changes, etc. to simplify the closing cycle.
• Coordinate monthly Controller conference call—including meeting agenda, manage call and post meeting action items.
• Serve as subject matter expert in SAP Branch financial reporting- partner with SBS leadership and field in development of effective reporting to enable monitoring of financial activities, KPIs, other operational/financial metrics.
• Lead Financial Acquistion integration activities.
• Oversee SBS Branch Budget cycle—working closely with SBS HQ finance team in aligning branch budget cycle with SEC Corporate cycle. Along with SBS Controller establish and monitoring project timeline.
• Participate in monthly closing processes, as needed.
• Idenfity areas of best practices in the field for implementation accross SBS business.
• Assist in various assignments, tasks and special projects as assigned by Management.

Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Accounting required
• MBA and/or CPA preferred
• At least 7-15 years of general accounting and financial reporting experience in related industry
• Strong knowledge of operational and financial processes and practical application of financial and strategic analysis
• Ability to be recognized as a leader in the Company's Finance function. Demonstrate tactical and strategic thinking leadership skills as well as a high level of integrity
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel required. Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Access and Word also required
• Working knowledge of SAP and SAP Business Warehouse desired
• Must have good oral and written communication
• Strong interpersonal, analytical and leadership skills required
• Field travel required

Compensation for this position The compensation range for this role is $150,000- $200,000. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location.
