Litigation Support SpecialistThe successful candidate will provide comprehensive litigation support in state and federal construction-related and insurance coverage disputes. Candidates should be self-starters who take ownership of their cases, anticipate needs, and thrive in a collaborative litigation environment.Additional requirements include but are not limited to:Excellent verbal and written communication skills;Experience supporting attorneys in litigation, including working with insurers, clients, adjusters, and outside counsel;Strong understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings, and discovery processes;Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail;Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines;Strong analytical and problem solving skills;Ability to function effectively in a high-paced, deadline-driven environment;Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;Ability to work independently while supporting multiple attorneys and matters; andStrong work ethic that consistently takes initiative to complete daily tasks.Specific responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:Assist attorney(s) in complex state and federal cases from initial pleadings through trial;Perform initial case assessments to determine further document discovery to facilitate initial investigation of claim;Draft pleadings, scheduling orders, and motions for state and federal court;Prepare and manage written discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses, coordinating and reviewing document productions, and preparing privilege logsOrganize, review, and summarize construction project records, contracts, drawings, correspondence, expert materials, and claim filesAssist with coverage analysis support, including organization of policy materials and claim documentationCoordinate and prepare subpoenas for records and depositionsCommunicate professionally with experts, insurance adjusters, clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel;Schedule depositions, mediations, inspections, expert meetings, and hearingsAssist with trial preparation, including trial notebooks, exhibits, witness preparation, and courtroom supportMeet a billing requirement of approximately 140 hours per monthSupport attorneys during mediations and trials, including jury selection assistance where applicableHBS offers a competitive compensation package including quarterly bonuses based on performance.
