As a Medical Technologist - ASCP, you will perform a wide range of diagnostic tests, analyze results, and provide accurate and timely information to healthcare professionals for patient care. Your expertise will contribute to improving patient outcomes and ensuring the highest quality of healthcare services.

Responsibilities:

• Perform various laboratory tests and procedures with precision and accuracy, following established protocols and guidelines.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret patient samples, including blood, urine, and other bodily fluids, using sophisticated laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of specimens in compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, troubleshoot any issues, and perform routine maintenance as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, to provide accurate and timely test results for patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Record and maintain detailed laboratory data, test results, and patient information in electronic medical records (EMRs) or other designated systems.
• Stay updated with the latest developments and advancements in medical technology, laboratory techniques, and quality control procedures.
• Adhere to strict quality assurance and quality control measures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
• Participate in the training and supervision of laboratory assistants and other support staff.
• Comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards, including HIPAA, CLIA, and OSHA guidelines.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
• Current Florida state license or eligibility to obtain a Florida state license as a Medical Technologist.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by a nationally recognized accrediting agency, such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), is strongly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and procedures related to clinical chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, and molecular biology.
• Proficient in using laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMRs).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with a diverse healthcare team.
• Ability to prioritize workload, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in the laboratory.
