Telemetry Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3 - 12 hour shifts per week, to include every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees.

Job Description

The Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care to patients in a 29-bed telemetry unit. This role involves monitoring patients post-cardiac procedures and ensuring an efficient workflow within the unit while collaborating with the healthcare team for optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Care for up to 6 telemetry patients, including those recovering from PCI, PPM, ICD, or Ablation procedures.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips proficiently.
• Execute time management skills effectively, including establishment of patient care plans for each shift.
• Engage in collaboration with physicians and ancillary departments for comprehensive patient management.
• Facilitate discharge planning and provide patient education.
• Administer phlebotomy and manage various cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dobutamine).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 30 months of RN or LPN nursing experience with one previous successful travel nursing assignment.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required.
• Ability to perform Foley catheter care and maintenance per nurse-driven protocols.
