The Medical ICU at The Johns Hopkins Hospital is a 24-bed Intensive Care Unit specializing in the care of a high acuity patient population with complex medical diagnoses. The majority of our diagnoses include, but are not limited to: end stage renal & hepatic disease, multisystem organ failure, newly diagnosed or existing autoimmune & pulmonary disorders, the critically ill antepartum/ postpartum patient, the critically ill oncology patient. Only ICU RN's with at least one year of recent experience should apply. Our nurses provide mechanical ventilation, ECMO, cardiac support, dialysis, IV titration and more.

Job duties:

• Coordinates the total scope of care for patients to achieve clinical, financial, and organizational outcomes.
• Provides evidence-based care. Assumes management functions including responsibility for employment activities, conducting performance 
reviews, facilitating training, and monitoring corrective action plans.
• Manages, mentors, and develops others to promote quality, safety, and excellence in care.
• Works collaboratively with and provides leadership for a multidisciplinary team to optimize performance.
• Promotes and identifies quality improvement initiatives (clinical, financial, operational) aligned with 
departmental and organizational objectives.
• Identifies methods to promote the cost-effective use of resources.

Qualifications:

• Recent ICU experience required and is RN III proficient
• BSN Degree in nursing (ADN) (Required); MSN preferred
• Basic CPR upon hire required
• Active RN license upon hire required
