Pay Range is $70,000 - $85,000

Responsibilities:

As a Staff Vision Rehabilitation Therapist at CNS, you will play a pivotal role in transforming lives. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Patient Evaluations : Conduct comprehensive initial evaluations to identify visual, perceptual, cognitive, and functional impairments. Assess strengths, limitations, and rehabilitation needs to develop individualized treatment plans. Perform interim evaluations and reassessments to monitor progress and update treatment goals.Conduct on-site home, vocational, community, power tool, and height evaluations when clinically appropriate.
• Vision Rehabilitation Treatment : Develop and implement individualized vision rehabilitation programs designed to improve functional performance and independence.Provide oculomotor rehabilitation and visual perceptual training. Teach compensatory strategies and adaptive techniques for visual impairments.Recommend and train patients in the use of assistive devices and adaptive equipment. Address visual processing, visual-motor integration, scanning, tracking, and visual attention deficits. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Reporting and Communication : Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely patient documentation. Complete evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, home programs, and discharge summaries.Communicate patient progress and treatment recommendations to patients, families, referral sources, and insurance representatives. Collaborate with physicians, neuro-optometrists, neurologists, physiatrists, orthopedists, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Program Management : Maintain knowledge of all assigned patient treatment programs within the department. Ensure continuity and consistency of care throughout the rehabilitation process. Instruct and supervise rehabilitation aides, support staff, and students as appropriate. Provide ongoing consultation regarding treatment implementation and patient progress.
• Therapeutic Interventions : Implement a variety of therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient's needs. This includes sensory integration, neuromuscular and neurodevelopmental techniques, oculomotor and visual perceptual therapies, and other specialized therapies to enhance patient outcomes.
• Collaboration and Teamwork : Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of innovative individualized treatment strategies.
• Professional Development : Engage in continuous learning and professional development opportunities. Take advantage of mentorship programs and professional development paths that reward learning and skill-building with compensation boosts.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background : Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree in Vision Rehabilitation Therapy, Rehabilitation Services, Occupational Therapy, Education, Special Education, or a related field preferred.
• Certification : Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist (CVRT) certification preferred. Certification through the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education Professionals (ACVREP) preferred.
• Licensing : Current state licensure, certification, or eligibility as required by applicable state regulations.
• Preferred Experience : Experience working with individuals with traumatic brain injury, neurological impairments, low vision, or visual deficits preferred. Experience providing vision rehabilitation services, visual skills training, and adaptive techniques preferred.
