Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for assigned Emergency Room patients throughout the scheduled shift in collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team
• Identify actual and potential patient needs through nursing assessment to develop an organized and prioritized plan of care
• Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency and life-threatening situations
• Administer medications and treatments including IV medications, blood and blood products, and patient-controlled analgesia
• Document assessments, plans of care, interventions, educational needs, and patient and family responses to interventions
• Maintain a safe patient and working environment by adhering to infection control and safety policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) state license – must be active at time of assignment
• Minimum of 1–2 years of recent acute care experience, with Emergency Room experience required
• Current CPR certification
• Proficiency or ability to work within Meditech EHR system
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with medical-surgical diagnoses and treatments in an emergency care setting
• Familiarity with chest pain or stroke protocols in an accredited facility environment
