All Certified Respiratory Therapist responsibilities include: Assists physicians with bronchoscopy procedures under departmental policy, including monitoring and assessment of level of consciousness, cardiovascular and pulmonary systems; and delivery of IV conscious sedation agents including opioids, benzodiazepines, sedative‑hypnotics and their reversal agents. Initiates ventilator protocols, implements and coordinates ventilator management. Performs advanced airway care including tracheotomy changes, extubation, and intubation. Initiates and monitors high‑frequency ventilators. Performs surfactant delivery and intubation during high‑risk deliveries in NICU. Optionally involved in transport team, intubation, and backup charge therapist. Initiates and monitors nitric oxide delivery. Performs department‑specific functions as detailed within the summary of the department‑specific duties. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) Respiratory Care Practitioner - NMBLS ACLS and/or PALS Six months to one year of critical care experience preferred.
