Mechanical Design Engineer for Aerospace Simulation Company ( must have aircraft knowledge )

Must Be: US Citizen, have reliable transportation & a driver’s license, be able to hit the ground running using Solidworks.

Responsibilities:

-       Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using Solidworks

-       Collaborate with other engineers (both mechanical and electrical), project managers, and suppliers to satisfy customer requirements

-       Work closely with the manufacturing team

-       Reverse engineer aircraft components for simulator use

-       Assist in design reviews for customers and/or contractors

-       Review engineering drawings prior to release

Required Skills/Certifications:

-       Strong proficiency using CAD software for 3D modeling and creating detailed engineering drawings (Solidworks preferred)

-       Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)

-       Reverse engineering

-       Knowledge of basic aircraft systems (rotary and/or fixed wing)

-       Experience with at least 2 of the following:

o   Weldments

o   Sheet metal

o   Machined parts

o   Large assemblies

o   Hydraulics

o   Electromechanical systems

-       Design for Manufacturing (DFM) practices

-       Documentation management (revision control, file organization, etc.)

-       Time management

-       Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology or similar

Preferred Skills/Certifications:

-       Familiarity with CNC machines

-       Solidworks certifications

-       Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification

-       FEA experience

-       Experience in the simulation industry

-       Knowledge of Milspec Standards

-       Advanced aircraft knowledge

-       3D scanning experience
