HGV Technician Salary: £40,803 per annum + Weekend Premium Hours: 39 hours per week – 5 days over 7, rotating schedule of 07:00-15:00 one week then 12:00-20:00 the next week Location: Ipswich IP4 We are seeking skilled and motivated HGV Technician / PSV Technician to join a busy engineering team responsible for maintaining and repairing a modern fleet of buses. Whether you’re currently working on trucks, commercial vehicles, fleet vehicles or buses, we’d love to hear from you. We will consider applicants with a background and experience in: REME Qualified HGV Qualified PSV Qualified Plant & Agricultural The Role of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining a fleet of passenger service vehicles to the highest safety and reliability standards. Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance. Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults. Conducting vehicle inspections and defect rectification. Completing MOT preparation work. Using diagnostic equipment to identify faults and carry out repairs. Ensuring all work is completed in line with DVSA and company standards. Maintaining accurate workshop records and documentation. Working effectively as part of a professional engineering team. Ideal HGV Technician / PSV Technician will have: NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills. Experience working on heavy vehicles or commercial vehicles. Good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems. A proactive approach to maintenance and repair. Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
