Die Cutter Operator

Die Cutter Operator Location: Clifton, New Jersey Job Type: Full time A well established, full service printing and packaging company in Clifton is seeking an experienced Die Cutter Operator to join its production team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating die cutting equipment while maintaining production efficiency, quality standards, and a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities Complete press makeready for each new job, including setting the feeder, locking up the die, and setting the stripper, blanker, and delivery Assist with loading dies weighing approximately 150 pounds into the cutting press using proper safety procedures and team assistance or equipment as needed Operate the die cutting press safely and as efficiently as possible Inspect random sheets from each load to confirm the finished product meets customer specifications and quality standards Identify, flag, isolate, and properly tag defective materials Make necessary press adjustments and corrections before continuing production Remove completed loads from the press using an electric hand truck Review and follow all instructions provided in the job jacket Maintain accurate production records, including waste, production time, downtime, and waiting time Follow all company safety policies and understand the location and proper use of safety devices in the work area Maintain a clean and organized work area Qualifications Previous experience operating or assisting with a cutting press is preferred Experience with Bobst die cutting equipment is strongly preferred Experience within folding carton, commercial printing, or packaging production is preferred Ability to read, understand, and follow job jacket instructions Strong mechanical ability and attention to detail Basic math skills Ability to work safely, efficiently, and accurately in a fast paced production environment Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Equipment Used Bobst cutting press Electric hand truck Company provided tools and production equipment
