About the Role

We are a well-established daytime bakery café in Chestnut Hill known for house-baked pastries, artisan breads, and a thoughtful breakfast and lunch menu. We are looking for a hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our small kitchen team, maintain quality, and keep daily operations running smoothly. This is a working manager role — you will be in the kitchen every day alongside your team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all kitchen operations for breakfast and lunch service
• Work hands-on in a working manager capacity — prep, line, and expo
• Hire, train, schedule, and develop a small kitchen team
• Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
• Manage ordering, vendor relationships, and inventory
• Monitor food and labor costs; minimize waste
• Ensure full compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
• Collaborate with ownership on seasonal menu updates and specials

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of kitchen management experience required
• Bakery, café, or breakfast/lunch concept experience strongly preferred
• Strong scratch cooking skills and commitment to quality
• Solid understanding of food cost controls and inventory management
• ServSafe certified or able to obtain upon hire
• Team-first attitude with strong communication and organizational skills
