Student Nurse Externs on variable shifts assist nurses by performing technical duties. Type of Equipment: Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, Alaris IV pumps Documentation System: Meditech Scheduling Requirements: Minimum of 2 weekends per month, 1 summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day), and 2 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) Floating Policy: Employees float as needed, typically to other ICUs, but may include other floors. Patient Experience Requirements: None specific Hiring Profile Requested Skill Set: Must Have: Strong critical care experience, including CVICU experience Advanced Skills Needed: Proficiency with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring required; preferred experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT. Procedures Performed on Unit: Care for immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADs. Perform central line insertion, Swan insertion, intubations, etc. Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS Dress Code Required uniform: Scrubs in black, red, or galaxy blue; scrub jackets/vests are permitted.
