Shipping & Receiving Clerk | Norton Shores, MI

Salary Range: $41,000 - $61,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Norton Shores region seeking Shipping & Receiving Clerks. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates-not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and log incoming raw materials and finished goods.
• Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and creating shipping documents.
• Load and unload trucks using forklifts or other material handling equipment.
• Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and data entry.
• Coordinate with production, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure timely material flow.
• Organize and maintain the warehouse and receiving areas for efficiency and safety.
• Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment safely.
• Identify and report discrepancies or damages in shipments.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1-3 years experience in shipping, receiving, or warehousing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in using various material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift - certification preferred).
• Experience with inventory management systems and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for inventory management.
• Forklift certification (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck).
• Proficiency in using barcode scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
