About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BCLS and PALS required Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years of experience required - Traveler experience accepted if qualified - Skills in IV starts and lab draws preferred - Chemotherapy experience is preferred Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR. The unit will accept first-time travelers if they have 2 years of experience. Locals are accepted, and there is a rate difference. Staffing ratios are targeted at 1:5-6. A total of 36 hours can be offered. The unit will accept 13-week contracts. Shifts are 12 hours days from 06:45 to 19:15. RTO is limited to 7 days maximum. There are no call requirements. Floating to other units may be required. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. The patient population includes ages 0-17, covering medical-surgical patients as well as hematology/oncology. Unit systems include medication dispensing and electronic health records. Daily census includes approximately 24 patients. The unit contains a total of 38 beds. Interdisciplinary teams provide support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and more. Candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility per job description. Reference checks may be pending at the time of submission.
