Deposit Operations Specialist

The Deposit Operations Specialist team member will provide assistance with the deposit operations of the bank. This position will assist customers, employees, officers, and other branch personnel via phone calls and e-mails as issues arise. In their Deposit Operations capacity, this team member will assist with research of debit card charges, debit card disputes, reissuing debit cards, providing provisional and final credit to customers, scanning documents, documentation review and other tasks related to the overall deposit operations of the bank. It is critical that tasks are performed in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with regulatory requirements and department procedures.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

• Ongoing, superior attention to detail.
• Demonstrate proficiency in understanding Deposit Operations procedures
• Responsible for day-to-day support of deposit operational functions including processing ACH files, adjustments, exceptions and returns.
• Quality control for all new and existing accounts to ensure adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Review, monitor, and resolve exception items in a timely and accurate manner.
• Review and verify processing of debit card items and disputes.
• Handle research requests as needed.
• Review/Scan/Verify Deposit Account Documentation as needed.
• Complete account maintenance requests that cannot be handled at the branch level.
• Ensure accuracy of customers deposit corrections.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities for both new and existing clients.
• Assist in preparing for bank audits, working with, and following requests from audit/examination teams.
• Work as a team to support personnel to ensure all processes and services are completed on time and accurately.
• Complies with federal and state regulations and all established bank policies and procedures.
• Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

• Banking experience (customer service, new account & cash handling experience) preferably, but not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word, Adobe, computer skills, electronic and paper file management.
• Possess good organizational and time management skills.
• Be responsive; and possess the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Interact with employees, customers, and vendors in a professional manner.
• Ability to work independently and with a team, showing emphasis on accuracy and timeliness while demonstrating sound judgment and decision making.
• High regard for confidentiality and possess a great degree of integrity.

• Must comply with all bank policies and procedures that are job related and/or consistent with business requirements.
• High School diploma or equivalent
