Join us!Purpose of Job:This role serves as counsel to various business partners of the Enterprise with a heavy focus on transactional work. The Corporate Counsel will assist with negotiating a variety of commercial contracts and supporting to maintain Enterprise operations compliant with applicable laws.Job Components:Primarily draft, review, edit and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including supply agreements, sales contracts, licensing agreements, sale and purchase agreements, consulting agreements, leases and other commercial agreements.Develop, implement, and refine contract templates as needed.Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations, providing legal interpretations, and assisting in the drafting of policies and procedures.Provide practical guidance to various business units regarding the legal risks associated with certain activities or initiatives.Assist in managing small scale litigation matters which may include preparation of responses and negotiation of settlements.Perform other duties and projects as assigned.Qualifications:Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.Active bar membership.Minimum 5 years of legal experience as a transactional attorney.Law firm experience is a plus.Excellent verbal and written skills.Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters.Ability to travel.Work Environment:Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods of time.Must be able to come into the office a minimum of three full days a week.Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, and talk and hear.Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 20+ lbs.Warehouse environment when traveling in field (temperature fluctuations).Note: We do not accept resumes from headhunters, placement agencies, or other suppliers that have not signed a formal agreement with us.Interstate Batteries provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
