Description: Medical Office Building. Multiple specialty clinics within the building, specifically for cardiology. Average patient census is 24-60 patients per day. This is a fast-paced clinic with patient visits every 15 minutes. Patient types include adults with conditions such as CHF, chest pain, pre/post Cath Lab, post-CABG, post-valve replacements, pulmonary hypertension, peripheral artery disease, and EP patients. Some stress test evaluations may be required. Required skills include authorization of procedures, entering orders, patient education, in-basket management, and phone triage of patients. Occasional administration of IV dobutamine for stress tests may be necessary. Assistance with rooming patients and obtaining EKGs may be needed, but medical assistants will handle the majority of these tasks. Placement of Holter/event monitors may be required, and education will be provided if there is no prior experience. The support team within the department includes medical assistants, LPNs, patient service representatives, a lead nurse, and supervisors. There are five cardiologists, one EP physician, and four nurse practitioners on the team. Technology used includes EMR: EPIC, IV Pump: Alaris, and Monitors: Zio & Bardy. Scheduled shifts are Monday to Friday from 0800 to 1700 with rotating half days off each week. Scrub color should be any solid color that is professional without graphics, logos, or designs. No weekend rotation or on-call duties are expected. Holiday expectations are also not applicable. Requests for time off can be approved for up to five days.
