Culinary Assistant / Server

Eventide in Lincoln, NE is seeking a Culinary Assistant / Server to work 6a-10a. This schedule includes a weekend and holiday rotation.

The Culinary Assistant is responsible for assisting in food preparation, upholding cleaning and sanitary standards, and managing kitchen inventory and supplies.

Essential functions include:

1. Assisting with serving meals following diet orders and preparing food to order in dining room as requested by Senior/client.
2. Operating dish machine to ensure dishes and silverware are cleaned and sanitized, dried and put away in a timely manner.
3. Ensuring accurate and timely documentation related to food production, quality, and food safety.
4. Ensuring food and products are properly acquired, stored, dated and rotated.
5. Following recipes according to appropriate safe food handling procedures, using food service equipment.
6. Handling trash and sweeping and mopping galley kitchen floor.
7. Procuring food from storage areas, freezers, and refrigerators.
8. Providing outstanding customer service during guest interactions.

Ideal candidate:

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language including medical terminology related to the job.
• Ability to gain access to the work area and then safely perform the duties of the job. Vision and hearing within normal limits (with or without correction). Must have unrestricted lift/push/pull ability of 32 - pounds, demonstrating strength and agility at Eventide's discretion.
• At least age 16.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of experience in sanitation work in health care or food preparation facility preferred.
• Prep/Cook Level Food Handler Permit required for Eventide campuses in Lancaster County. Must meet Eventide's vaccination requirements.

Compensation:

At Eventide, we value our employees and offer a competitive starting pay range of $15-16.80 per hour for Culinary Assistants based on qualifications, experience, and location. Shift premiums and differentials are also available, for select positions, paid on employment status and shift worked.
