Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist

Assignment Duration

This is a long-term contract position extending through October 31, 2026, with an emphasis on EPIC conversion.

Schedule

AM shift, consisting of 5 eight-hour shifts per week, totaling 40 hours each week.

Job Description

The Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist will be responsible for various laboratory duties, including receiving and processing laboratory specimens. The role requires ensuring specimen identity, entering laboratory orders into the Lab Information System, and managing patient demographic information. The ideal candidate will prepare specimens for analysis and referral to outside laboratories, ensuring compliance with all storage requirements.

Responsibilities

• Accessioning, packing, and resulting of send-out lab samples.
• Answering phone inquiries related to specimen requirements, test availability, and specimen testing status.
• Preparing specimens for analysis and ensuring proper handling before referral.
• Ensuring accurate entry of laboratory orders and patient registration information.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active ASCP MLS/MLT or equivalent certification.
• Experience with send-out lab sample processing is preferred.
