Traveling Superintendent

Role Description This is a full-time, on‑site Traveling Superintendent role. The Traveling Superintendent oversees daily on‑site construction activities, including coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within scope. The role is responsible for enforcing site safety standards, conducting inspections, and maintaining compliance with building codes and company policies. The Traveling Superintendent collaborates closely with project managers, owners, and design teams, provides regular progress updates, and helps resolve field issues to keep projects on track. The role also includes reviewing plans, verifying materials and workmanship, maintaining site documentation, and supporting quality assurance and punch‑list completion. Qualifications Demonstrated experience supervising commercial or large-scale construction projects as a Superintendent or similar field leadership role. Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, safety regulations, and site logistics. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules. Ability to manage subcontractors, coordinate multiple trades, and maintain project timelines and quality standards. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with project teams, clients, and field personnel. Experience with construction management software, digital documentation tools, and basic computer skills. Proven ability to travel between project sites as required and work on‑site in varying weather and jobsite conditions. High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
