School Psychologist

VARIOUS LOCATIONS/VARIOUS LEVELS EFFECTIVE DATE: 2026/2027 School Year (First Day for Staff: August 10, 2026) QUALIFICATIONS Master's Degree Full approval as a State of Michigan School Psychologist preferred, temporary approval considered Valid State of Michigan license Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and other legal aspects of the role of the school psychologist Job-related experience Ability to plan and coordinate effectively with other professionals Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships with all stakeholders Ability to use assessment instruments and interpret results Willingness to cooperate in ongoing training Ability to function within board policies and procedures with a minimum of supervision Ability to exercise tact and discretion in relationships with students, faculty and the general public Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance RESPONSIBILITIES Screen and evaluate referred children including selecting appropriate instruments, administering tests, observations and writing reports which state the evaluation findings and provide for educational program recommendations Intervene in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students for the purpose of assisting students in modifying behavior and developing successful interpersonal skills Consult with parents, teachers, other appropriate staff or outside professionals regarding the child's program and any adaptations/materials needed to facilitate improved performance in the educational setting or at home Participate in planning and implementing prevention programs to address the academic, social and affective needs of the students Design appropriate research-based academic and behavioral interventions for students with disabilities Establish and monitor the necessary caseloads, procedures and resources to manage school psychologist services to students/staff and work cooperatively to accomplish the goals of the school Implement appropriate and alternative ways to monitor and assess the effectiveness of interventions and individual students progress toward goals Be an active member of District level Threat Assessment Team The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance Perform related duties as assigned SALARY Per DEA Master Agreement DIRECT SUPERVISOR Assistant Superintendent of Student Services/Director of Special Education APPLICATION PROCEDURE Apply online at In addition to submitting an application online, internal applicants are required to provide a letter of intent and resume to the direct supervisor identified on this posting.
