Job Title Heavy Equipment Road Mechanic - Hampton Major Role and Purpose The primary responsibilities of this position are to diagnose and repair heavy highway equipment and maintenance issues. Description of Duties Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. Perform field repairs and overhaul of the various heavy highway equipment. Test equipment following repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with operating specifications. Perform the necessary field preventive maintenance practices to increase the service life of the equipment. Notify the Shop Foreman when problems arise, especially when delays involve moving equipment. Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned. Education High School Diploma / GED. Work Experience Minimum 3 years of experience with heavy equipment preferred. Skills Required Effective communication and organization skills. Diagnose and repair heavy highway equipment. Able to perform repairs in accordance with OSHA safety regulations. Valid driver's license. Mechanical aptitude. Physical Demands Job requires the following motions: climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, vibrating, and reaching. Requires lifting up to 50lbs. Overtime work is required.
