About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 or 48 hours per week Experience: Preferred acute care facility experience License: Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice required Certifications: - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required Must-Have: - Experience with EPIC and Cerner Description: Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and professional judgment. Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation. Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation. Collaborates with the team of patients, families, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe and humane environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients and family members. Directly provides health information to patients and their families. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Organizational Requirements: All associates are required to receive all necessary vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. Participation in E-Verify is required for employment eligibility. This unit is comprised of a specialized ICU that cares for higher acuity patients. On-site Intensivists are available at all times. The team works closely with all other departments to ensure comprehensive patient care. Special procedures performed include central line insertion, arterial line insertion, and more. Scrubs required: Navy Blue.
