As a vital member of a multidisciplinary team, you'll design and deliver intervention strategies, manage caseloads, and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families. The role involves providing one-on-one and small group support, crafting tailored behavior plans, and ensuring students receive the emotional, behavioral, and social assistance they need for both academic and personal growth.

Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited college or university
• Hold one of the following: Preliminary School Social Worker Certificate (PSSWC), Professional School Social Worker Certificate (PSWC), or School Social Worker Permit (SSWP)
• Active LARA Social Work license
• MDE School Social Work Approval
• Official university transcripts (must be provided when applying)
• Experience with K-12 students, particularly in special education settings
• Ability to provide documentation and participate actively in IEP meetings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Comfortable working onsite

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and support the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of special education students
• Design, implement, and monitor individualized intervention and behavior management plans
• Directly counsel students individually and in groups to foster social and emotional growth
• Consult regularly with educators, administrators, and families to support student achievement
• Participate in assessments, IEP/parent meetings, and conduct home visits as needed
• Identify and report instances of abuse or neglect and deliver crisis intervention
