Electrical Engineer II

As a member of the Hardware Engineering team, you will play a highly hands-on role in the design, test, characterization, and tuning of electrical circuitry, using rapid experimentation to build a deep understanding of system performance and drive better engineering decisions. You will work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Software teams to design and evaluate new hardware, investigate unexpected behavior, resolve complex technical challenges, and move products quickly from prototype to robust, production-ready solutions.RESPONSIBILITIES:Design, test, characterize, debug, and tune low-power, mixed-signal electronic circuits and systems throughout the product development lifecycleContribute to schematic design, component selection, PCB development, hardware prototyping, board bring-up, and design iterationDevelop and execute electrical experiments and characterization plans to understand system behavior, evaluate performance, identify root causes, and guide design improvementsAnalyze test data and collaborate across Electrical, Firmware, Mechanical, and other engineering teams to optimize circuit performance, power consumption, signal integrity, reliability, and overall system performanceSupport design verification, validation, and new product introduction (NPI), partnering with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to resolve technical issues and enable successful high-volume productionTravel up to 15% domestically and internationally to collaborate with partners, suppliers, and contract manufacturersQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience3+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience developing, testing, or debugging electronic hardwareStrong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, including analog and digital circuit design, power management, signal integrity, and common communication interfacesHands-on experience designing, prototyping, testing, characterizing, and debugging electrical circuits and systemsExperience reading and developing schematics and working with ECAD tools such as Altium or equivalentStrong laboratory skills using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, soldering equipment, and other electronic test and measurement toolsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and experimentation to quickly develop an understanding of complex technical problems and drive them toward resolutionStrong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate’s specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
