This short-term locums opportunity offers two days of call coverage focused on adult inpatient surgical care within a collaborative hospital environment.

No regular scheduled shifts

Coverage provided for two specific dates only

Call Schedule:

Beeper/phone call coverage

Average callback time: Approximately 3-4 hours depending on surgical cases

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

Inpatient/Hospital-Based

Patient Population:

100% Adult

Patient Volume:

Approximately 3-4 hospital patients per day

Trauma Level:

Not a trauma center

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide general surgery call coverage
• Evaluate and manage inpatient surgical patients
• Perform standard general surgery procedures and consultations
• Provide surgical decision-making and patient management
• Collaborate with hospital staff and clinical teams
• Complete documentation within Epic EMR

Requirements

• Board Certification in General Surgery - Required
• Active Virginia Medical License - Required
• ACLS Certification - Required
• Standard general surgery skills and procedures - Required
