Colorado Health Network is seeking a Grants Manager to join their Advancement Team. This is a full-time, high-impact role responsible for managing all aspects of the grants program, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and funder requirements, and fostering relationships with donors and funders.

Position Summary: The Grants Manager will work cross-functionally with finance, programs, and executive leadership to ensure that grant funds are used in accordance with applicable federal regulations, funder requirements, and CHN policy. This statewide position is site based and may work from any CHN region.

Essential Job Functions:

• Acquire and maintain sound knowledge and understanding of CHN's mission, programs, target population, and vision. Use this information to prepare accurate, compelling grants and other written communications.
• Maintain a master grants calendar tracking all application deadlines, reporting due dates, budget periods, and compliance milestones. Coordinate follow-ups on the progress of submitted proposals.
• Develop response to requests for proposals (RFP's) and letters of intent on grants and funding.
• Prepare and submit grant applications and proposals for CHNs existing or proposed programs/projects.
• Write high-quality grant proposal narratives, applications, and supporting documents by researching and collecting appropriate data.
• Collaborate with the Chief Programs Officer, Chief Clinical Officer, and their directors to complete grant writing work and coordinate with them to ensure deliverables, deadlines and obligations are met.
• Manage the proposal submission process to ensure timely submission of all required materials.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for private foundation program officers and grants management specialists.
• Establish and maintain personal contacts and relationships with foundation contacts and program officers. Collaborate with the Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Executive Officer, in the execution of stewardship activities for funders with an emphasis on creating engaging, meaningful relationships.
• Collaborate with finance and department managers to compile financial and other data for post-award reporting.
• Manage multiple projects and keep them moving in a timely manner, meet deadlines, and manage supplemental material required for proposals.
• Maintain data integrity in donor database (Bloomerang).
• Edit and proofread grants and written communication prepared by other Advancement and program staff.
• Provide day of support to CHN special events and projects as needed as a member of the Advancement Team.
• Must be able to work in a diverse setting with diverse populations, including persons living with HIV, the LGBTQ+ community, persons of various ethnic backgrounds, disenfranchised communities.
• Participation in training related to HIV, substance use, harm reduction, trauma informed care and related issues. Cultural Competency/Sensitivity.

Qualifications:

Required: At least four years of progressively responsible grants management experience in healthcare or other related human services fields and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed above. At least two years of experience managing State of Colorado (CDPHE, DDPHE, Regional Opioid Abatement Councils, or similar) and/or federal grants (HRSA, CDC, SAMHSA, or similar). Excellent written communication skills with demonstrated ability to write clear, compelling grant narratives and technical reports. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines in a complex, multi-funder environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with grants management or accounting software. Willingness and ability to work with diverse populations – persons living with HIV, the LGBTQ+ community, persons of various racial and ethnic backgrounds, disenfranchised communities. Participation in training related to HIV, substance use, harm reduction, trauma informed care and related issues. Cultural Competency/Sensitivity.

Preferred: Knowledge of HIV/AIDS services landscape, public health systems, or harm reduction approaches. Experience at a non-profit health services or AIDS service organization. Experience with federal reporting systems such as HRSA Electronic Handbooks (EHBs), Grants.gov, and SAM.gov. Experience in developing grants for health system-related projects and activities. Certification in grants management (CGMS, GPC) or fundraising (CFRE).

Education:

Bachelor's degree in public health, public health administration, business administration, nonprofit management or a closely related field required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree in public health, public administration, or business administration preferred.

Software Utilized:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel is required. Experience with donor and/or grants management database systems preferred.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

Ability to analyze and present data in a compelling manner. Excellent communication, client relations, and management skills. Knowledge of government and non-government grant programs. This position requires personal and professional accountability; self-management and initiative; dedication to quality improvement, professional integrity and research ethics and cultural competency. Must demonstrate accuracy, efficiency and excellent organizational skills. Must be detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess ability to set priorities and function as part of a team. Possess ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Must maintain the highest level of ethical conduct. Possess ability to take initiative, work independently, and use innovative techniques and ingenuity to prepare grant applications. Must possess ability to coordinate grant projects with CHN staff and community partners.

Material and Equipment Directly Used:

Works with standard office equipment including computer work station, printers, copiers, scanners and fax machine. Works with word processing software, spreadsheet applications, and presentation software. Communicates with clients and vendors using the telephone, e-mail, the Internet, and fax.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:

Works in an office environment. Some travel to Regional Offices and within the Denver Metropolitan area is required. Some weekend and evening work is required. Must have current and valid Colorado driver's license; must be able to pass driving record check per CHN insurance requirements. Must be able to be insured by CHN driving and liability insurance companies. Must have personal insurance on own vehicle if driving on behalf of CHN. Requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds of materials. Requires clear speaking ability and the ability to use a telephone for extended periods. Requires ability to view a computer screen (near acuity). Requires fingering agility for keyboarding and using a telephone and other office equipment.
