Physical Therapy Assistant – Physical Therapy

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 40

Requirements:

• Current state license to practice Physical Therapy
• Proof of current CPR certification
• Current driver's license
• Reliable transportation and insurance
• 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant
• Graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy assistant with an Associate Degree in Physical Therapy

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Administer physical therapy treatment plans as developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Conduct non-complex active and passive therapeutic exercises and modalities (e.g., heat, cold, electrical modalities).
• Document clients' status accurately and in a timely manner.
• Attend educational meetings and contribute to departmental in-services.
• Notify relevant personnel of changes in equipment, supplies, staffing, or client status.
• Schedule clients and perform office tasks as required.
• Apply infection control and universal precautions in patient care.
• Accept clinical assignments consistent with education and competence.
• Promote compliance with third-party payors through education and assistance.

Compliance / Notes:

• Must maintain confidentiality.
• Required to work flexible schedules and travel locally.
• Prolonged standing and walking are required.
• Must meet continuing education requirements to maintain licensure.
