Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid schedule available)
Compensation: $80,000 - $140,000

LHH is partnering with a Chicago & St. Louis based litigation firm seeking a Personal Injury Defense Paralegal who thrives in fastpaced litigation and enjoys being deeply involved in case strategy and trial preparation. This role offers handson trial exposure, meaningful billable work, and the opportunity to play a key role on highstakes PI defense matters alongside experienced attorneys in a collaborative, teamdriven environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Support attorneys on personal injury defense matters from case inception through trial
  
• Assist with trial preparation and incourt support, including exhibits, trial binders, witness files, and courtroom logistics
  
• Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery responses, subpoenas, and correspondence
  
• Manage state and federal efilings and court deadlines
  
• Coordinate all phases of discovery, including document collection, review, and production
  
• Summarize medical records and prepare medical and litigation chronologies
  
• Assist with deposition preparation and exhibit organization
  
• Maintain organized case files, discovery databases, and litigation calendars
  
• Communicate with courts, opposing counsel, clients, experts, and vendors as needed
  

Billable Expectations

• This position includes both billable and nonbillable work
  
• Paralegals are expected to accurately record time for billable litigation tasks
  
• Reasonable billable expectations with an emphasis on quality, consistency, and teamwork
  

Qualifications

• 7+ years of personal injury litigation experience; defenseside experience preferred
  
• Prior trial preparation or trial support experience strongly preferred
  
• Solid understanding of state and federal court procedures
  
• Proficiency with efiling systems, document management platforms, and Microsoft Office
  
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  
• Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines in a fastpaced environment
  
• Professional, proactive, and teamoriented approach
