Accountant Position
You will serve as an accountant for COMNAVIFOR applying experienced, working level knowledge of accounting principles, methods, techniques, and financial management/automated accounting systems, and financial management assignments.
You will perform in-depth analysis of budgetary and proprietary account balances, requiring an experienced, working understanding of account balance reconciliations.
You will perform general ledger to subsidiary account balance reconciliations to ensure accurate and prospering reporting, as well as identifying material discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
You will develop, recommend, and implement financial accounting policies. Review proposed DoD, DoN, and BSO level policy changes; assess impact on financial operations and provide recommendations to senior financial managers.
You will develop, recommend and implement financial accounting policies as they relate to financial systems. Disseminate financial management policies to all levels of COMNAVIFOR.
You will provide financial systems assistance to system users as required.
You will assist in the establishment and assessment of short- and long-range plans for financial systems, taking cost-benefit analyses into consideration.
You will assess impact on financial operations and provide recommendations to senior financial managers.
