Pastry Chef for New Concept From Michelin Trained Chef

Now Hiring: Pastry Chef Position: Pastry Chef Department: Kitchen Employment Type: Full-Time Preferred Reports To: Executive Chef Compensation: Based on experience About the Position We are seeking a talented, creative, and detail-oriented Pastry Chef to lead the preparation and presentation of high-quality desserts and baked goods. The ideal candidate has a passion for pastry, a strong understanding of baking techniques, and the ability to create memorable desserts that complement our restaurant’s culinary vision. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for developing dessert offerings, maintaining consistent quality, managing pastry inventory, and ensuring that all products meet our standards for flavor, presentation, and freshness. Key Responsibilities Prepare and execute a variety of desserts, pastries, cakes, tarts, cookies, breads, and other baked goods. Develop creative seasonal desserts that complement the restaurant’s menu and culinary direction. Maintain consistency in recipes, portion sizes, flavor, quality, and presentation. Oversee daily pastry production, preparation lists, and kitchen organization. Manage inventory, order ingredients, and minimize food waste while maintaining quality. Maintain proper food storage, labeling, rotation, and sanitation procedures. Follow all applicable food safety and health department regulations. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pastry station. Collaborate with the Executive Chef and kitchen team on menu development and special events. Monitor ingredient costs, portion control, and product yields to meet food cost targets. Train and support pastry cooks and other kitchen team members as needed. Ensure desserts are prepared and delivered in a timely manner during service. Qualifications Previous experience as a Pastry Chef, Pastry Cook, or in a similar professional kitchen role. Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry production, dessert plating, and ingredient handling. Ability to follow recipes accurately while contributing creative ideas. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to consistency. Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food storage procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required. Preferred Qualifications Culinary or pastry arts education. Experience developing seasonal dessert menus.
