The Opportunity: Avantor is seeking an Operator at our NuSil site. This is a full-time position based in Carpinteria, CA. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a diverse team in a phenomenal environment. NuSil supports the healthcare, aerospace, and biotech industries. What we’re looking for

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.

• Experience: 1-2 years of experience in packaging or distribution.

• Certification(s): None required.

• Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a chemical plant.

• Understanding/familiarity with cGMP and RCRA training.

How you will thrive and create an impact

• Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Comply with company standards and OSHA requirements.

• Ensure the lines are set up and running to the production schedule in accordance with work orders.

• Understand line and pump configuration; clean and inspect lines; and perform line changeovers as needed.

• Perform pre-start-up inspections on equipment and ensure that items that have failed checks are addressed.

• Maintain manufacturing areas clean and organized.

• Willing to multitask and be flexible.

• Keep accurate production records.

• Collaborate with Supervisors and Maintenance Personnel to resolve equipment setup and operations issues.

• Work with the QA Dept to understand, recognize, and rectify quality issues. Has the authority and responsibility to stop the line and notify QA of a contamination event.

• Ability to perform the duties of both a packaging operator and material handler.

• Manage hazardous and universal waste in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Perform other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

• Demonstrate mechanical ability.

• Critical decision-making skills, creativity, and multitasking ability.
