Faithworks Total Ground Maintenance, LLC is seeking an experienced Florida-licensed pesticide applicator, spray technician, or turf professional for a flexible part-time position based in Mt. Dora, Florida.
This position is ideal for an experienced golf course spray technician, assistant superintendent, turf professional, chemical application technician, or licensed landscape pesticide applicator seeking competitive part-time work.
The role combines turf and ornamental plant health, pesticide and herbicide applications, equipment calibration, employee training, and field-quality inspections for commercial and government properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform approved pesticide and herbicide applications for turf and ornamentals.
- Evaluate turf, weeds, ornamentals, plant health, and treatment needs.
- Select products and application methods according to labels, site conditions, contracts, and company procedures.
- Calibrate and inspect backpack and powered spray equipment.
- Maintain application logs, chemical inventory, SDS, labels, and compliance records.
- Help develop and improve Faithworks' lawn and ornamental treatment program.
- Train field employees on PPE, labels, equipment use, spill response, application safety, and proper turf practices.
- Inspect properties for mowing, edging, trimming, weeds, overhang, litter, scalping, turf damage, and incomplete work.
- Photograph deficiencies, communicate corrective actions, and verify completion.
- Coach crews on turf, landscape, and quality standards.
- Assist with technical site visits and bid reviews when needed.
- Provide a brief weekly pesticide and field-quality report.
Qualifications
- Current Florida pesticide applicator credential applicable to commercial turf, lawn, ornamental, or landscape pesticide applications. Credential verification is required.
- 3+ years of professional pesticide, turf, golf course, landscape, parks, municipal grounds, or related experience.
- Knowledge of Florida turfgrass, weeds, ornamentals, pesticide labels, application safety, and recordkeeping.
- Valid Florida driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work independently and coach field employees.
- Ability to work outdoors, walk large properties, carry application equipment, and use a mobile device for documentation.
Experience in golf course maintenance, agronomy, spray technician work, turfgrass management, irrigation, commercial landscaping, or lawn and ornamental pest management is especially valuable.
Schedule
Part-time W-2 position with approximately 16 guaranteed hours per week , with the potential for up to 40 hours per week based on workload, contract needs, seasonal demand, and business growth.
The typical schedule is about two field days per week, with flexibility based on applications, weather, inspections, and property needs.
Work is primarily in Mt. Dora, Apopka, Lake County, and Orange County , with occasional travel to Palatka.
Pay
$30–$36 per hour , based on credentials and experience.
Faithworks provides uniforms, required PPE, approved job-related training, and support for applicable continuing education and license renewal.
