Accounting Associate - Japanese bilingual

Title: Accounting Associate Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 annually (Non-exempt) Location: New York (Hybrid Work Schedule) Hiring schedule: August 2026 Company Overview A well-established Japanese chemical manufacturing company is seeking an Accounting Associate to support accounting operations and general IT/administrative functions. This position requires strong bilingual communication skills in Japanese and English and offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative corporate environment. Position Summary The Accounting Associate will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations (approximately 75% of responsibilities) and providing general IT and administrative support (approximately 25% of responsibilities). The ideal candidate will have prior accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work effectively in a bilingual environment. Required Qualifications 2-3 years of accounting experience Business-level Japanese and English communication skills (written and verbal) Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data management Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship Accounting Responsibilities (Approximately 75%) Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Prepare and process vendor payments and customer invoices Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation Assist with month-end and year-end closing activitiesPerform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger records Support expense reporting and reimbursement processes Assist with budgeting and financial reporting activities Generate routine accounting reports using Excel and accounting systems Maintain accurate financial files and records Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and vendors as needed Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures IT / Administrative Support Responsibilities (Approximately 25%) Provide basic end-user support for office hardware and software Assist employees with computer setup, printer connectivity, and general technical issues Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers Manage inventory of computers, mobile devices, and office technology equipment Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding related to IT equipment and system access Support office network, telecommunications, and conference room technology coordination Maintain IT-related documentation and asset records Coordinate software license tracking and renewals Assist with general office administration and facility-related support Support corporate projects and administrative initiatives as assigned #J-18808-Ljbffr
