Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner: On Call 12-hour Night shift Weekdays and Weekends

Job Description Our clinicians offer a full scope of occupational medicine services designed to help reduce healthcare costs, while minimizing lost work time and increasing employee productivity. Akeso Occupational Health is outcome-focused, providing medical care urgently or by appointment basis for occupational injuries and illnesses. We also create modified work and rehabilitation programs to facilitate the swift return of injured employees to work. Job Summary: As a PA/NP for our On Call Nights and Weekends role, you will pay a crucial part in providing direct patient care and ensuring efficient clinal operations. Your responsibilities will include timely documentation of patient encounters in the EMR, conducting pre-employment physicals, and addressing worker’s compensation injuries by referring to specialists or the Emergency Room when necessary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment. Administer treatment for injuries and illnesses following Evidence Based Medicine standards. Efficiently manage patients to maintain continuous patient flow and minimize wait times. Order and interpret diagnostic tests like x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests. Perform minor outpatient surgical procedures such as wound closure, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal. Instruct and counsel patients on compliance with therapeutic regimens, communicate test results and follow-up care. Review and manage daily tasks, patient callbacks, lab results during shift. Collaborate with the Clinic Medical Director to ensure adherence to medical and professional standards. Requirements: Qualifications and Skills Must be certified as a PA or NP. Must have a valid unrestricted PA/NP license to practice in the state of California. Possess current DEA & BLS certifications. Demonstrate a positive attitude and be a collaborative team player. Hold controlled substance license and DEA license with no restrictions. 1 year of urgent care or emergency medicine experience desired. Occupational Medicine experience preferred.
