Position Summary: At the direction of the Quality Leader, the Quality Inspector - Level 1 will train to develop the ability to use predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to perform in-process and completed inspection of products such as machined parts, mechanical assemblies, processed parts, and purchased standard hardware. They also perform verifications of part identification and configurations. The Quality Inspector - Level 1 will arrange inspection queues to identify priority work. In addition, they will identify and segregate non-conforming product using basic knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods per ASME 14.5 and common inspection measuring equipment, including, but not limited to, surface plates, micrometers, height gages, radius gages, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators as necessary to complete assignments. Quality Inspector - Level 1 will demonstrate blueprint reading and basic math skills, basic PC skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to use ERP systems after instruction. Reporting Relationships: The Quality Inspector - Level 1 will report to the Operations Manager. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Work Order Interaction Job Router Interpretation Proper Job Clocking and Job Book Etiquette (Completing of Operations) Basic Visual Inspection Use of Inspection Tools (such as, but not limited to): Height Gauges, Calipers, Micrometers, Pin Gauge, Depth Gauge, Small Hole Gauge, Weight Scale, Compass/Protractor, Inter-mic, Radius Gauge, Telescopic Gauge, Feeler Gauge, Bore Scope Gauge, Countersink Gauge Ability to Interpret Blueprints and Drawings Equipment & Area Maintenance Cleanliness/Organization (6S) Basic Part Protection & Part Handling Productivity & Quality Basic Shop Math Interpreting Certs Use of the Non-Conformance "NCR" Database and tagging/identifying Non-Conforming Parts Meets Daily Production Goals Completes Inspection Plans as Provided Understand & Locate Company Quality Requirements (Quality Manual, PSPs, PDIs) Other duties as Assigned Required Skills: Basic Shop Math Experience Print Reading Able to Meet Daily Production Goals Ability to Learn Punctuality Attention to Detail Familiarity with CMM Inspection and PC-DMIS (Basic to Intermediate Experience) Ability to use a Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Experience & Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent 1-2 years of experience Physical Demands & Working Condition: May be required to move items up to 35 pounds. Daily duties may require sitting, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, operating, and manipulating hand tools. Daily duties may require extended duration of walking. Exposed to a Manufacturing setting with heavy machinery.
