Hiring a General Laborer in Chambersburg, PA

Job Description

This 1st shift general laborer role combines hands-on material handling with basic woodworking production. You will prepare and load box trucks, operate woodworking machinery, and support multiple departments by moving, processing, and securing materials.

Shift: 1st shift Monday-Friday

Pay Rate: $17/hour to start

Benefits: Medical, dental, vision and 401k plan

Responsibilities

• Clean out box trucks and prepare them for loading.
• Review manifests and any additional paperwork to ensure products load in the correct order.
• Locate materials and use a pallet jack to move them to the box truck door.
• Scan materials and manually load them into box trucks, including double stacking stairs when appropriate.
• Safely handle and load materials of varying weights, including stairs (approximately 180–480 lbs), rails (around 40 lbs), and cabinets (approximately 30–210 lbs), using co-worker assistance for heavier items as needed.
• Secure all materials properly for transit to prevent damage or shifting.
• Shuttle box trucks on the property when holding a valid DOT card, as needed.
• Assist with unloading cabinets in receiving or act as a helper on deliveries when required.
• Lift up to 50 lbs independently and coordinate with co-workers for heavier items to ensure safe team lifting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chambersburg, PA.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
