About the Position

Job Title: Critical Care Float Pool RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Proficiency with EPIC IV Start experience Telemetry experience Ventilator management experience Description: Join our Critical Care Float Pool for weekend night shifts with flexibility to meet unit needs as they arise. Nurses will float to a variety of ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity. This includes Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, and SICU/MICU/NCCU. Nurses are required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Candidates must possess certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Experience with accessing and managing ports is essential. Candidates should also have skills in arterial line management and assisting with chest tube insertion and removal. Knowledge of BiPAP/CPAP management and blood product administration is required. Candidates should be adept in caring for ventilated patients and managing central lines. Skills in interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias are necessary. Experience with isolation precautions and IV insulin protocols is important. Candidates must be able to manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure. Ability to obtain 12-lead EKG and perform phlebotomy is required. Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring is necessary. Candidates must be capable of ventilator management and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips. Daily patient ratios will be maintained at 2 for days and nights. Weekend coverage is required, with a minimum of every other weekend. Interdisciplinary support will be available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The unit supports a range of patient diagnoses and utilizes special equipment as needed.
