Insurance Defense Associate Attorney (2–4 Years Experience)

Tampa, Florida (Onsite)

Must be Florida-barred and reside in or near the Tampa area.

An AV-rated insurance defense law firm is seeking a motivated Insurance Defense Associate Attorney with 2–4 years of litigation experience to join our Tampa office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to take greater ownership of their caseload, develop their litigation skills, and work alongside experienced trial attorneys in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of bodily injury defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and reports to insurance carriers.
• Conduct legal research and analysis using Westlaw and other legal resources.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Attend hearings, mediations, court conferences, and other litigation proceedings.
• Develop litigation strategy and provide case evaluations and recommendations.
• Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Work independently while collaborating with partners and other attorneys on complex litigation matters.
• Assist with case preparation and trial strategy, with opportunities for increased courtroom and trial exposure.

Qualifications

• Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.
• 2–4 years of litigation experience; insurance defense experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing litigation matters and handling cases with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience handling discovery, depositions, hearings, and drafting substantive motions.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and case management abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team-oriented practice group.
• Strong interest in developing a long-term career in insurance defense litigation.
